This expressive acrylic portrait on canvas, measuring 120x90x3 cm, depicts a dancer seemingly imbued with freedom and empowerment. The artist's use of bold colors and dynamic brushstrokes creates a powerful image of a plus-size woman gracefully poised, her body enveloped in fiery, wing-like plumage. The vibrant orange and gold hues of the "wings" suggest warmth, passion, and an inner light. The dark background enhances the dancer's luminescence, drawing the viewer's eye to her confident posture and upward gaze. This piece transcends mere representation, embodying themes of body positivity, self-acceptance, and the liberation of spirit. The textured application of the acrylic paint contributes to the artwork's powerful emotional impact. The style falls under Expressionism, capturing a feeling more than strict realism. This unique artwork is perfect for modern art collectors searching for statement pieces depicting body positivity, dance, and female empowerment.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia (1983). Since childhood, she shows interest in the arts and as a teenager she starts to work on representational sculpture and painting. My paintings are created to convey the essence of nature. I rely on our desires for beauty and balance which is what I establish through the use of color, texture and harmony in each of my paintings. I begin my work by applying color layers fluently, letting each image emerge and then focus on details which bring it to live. I think of my work as a pause from our busy lives, engaging the viewer by creating an inner sense of order which can shift its emotional state.
