Como parte de los Museos Nacionales de Liverpool, la Galería de Arte Walker alberga una impresionante colección desde el siglo XIII hasta la actualidad. Es la Galería Nacional del Norte. Es famosa por su colección de pinturas prerrafaelitas, grandes maestros y arte británico. Parte de su colección permanente incluye obras de Rembrandt, Poussin, Pittoni y Gianbattista, así como una importante colección de pinturas victorianas y numerosas obras prerrafaelitas. También alberga arte medieval y renacentista creado por la Iglesia Católica.
