Fundado en 1952, el Museo de Shanghái es famoso por su extensa colección de arte chino antiguo. Entre sus exhibiciones más destacadas se incluyen bronces, cerámicas, caligrafía y pinturas de diversas dinastías. Entre las piezas más destacadas se encuentran la vasija de bronce Ding de la dinastía Shang y la exquisita porcelana de la dinastía Ming.
