With a remarkable 36-year artistic career, Claudia Delgado Rojas is a distinguished contemporary Colombian artist whose work reflects a vibrant dialogue between Abstract Expressionism and symbolic figurative paintings. Her artistic practice is driven by a deep exploration of inner light, nature, and the universe. For Claudia, colour becomes a spiritual language, where each intuitive brushstroke carries emotional energy and symbolic meaning. Through this fusion of Abstract Expressionism and figurative expression, she creates powerful compositions that connect personal reflection with universal themes, resonating with collectors of contemporary abstract and figurative art.
Originally trained in Social Communication and Journalism in Bogotá, Rojas’ artistic journey expanded after moving to Europe in 1986. During this time, she developed her voice as a self-taught contemporary artist, exploring painting as an intuitive and spiritual practice. Her artistic development was further enriched through specialised workshops, including mural painting at the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) and painting studies at the Athanor School in Barcelona. This combination of academic exposure and self-directed artistic exploration helped shape her distinctive style within the Latin American contemporary art scene.
Throughout her career, Claudia Delgado Rojas has received recognition through numerous international exhibitions and artistic presentations. Her works have been showcased across Colombia, Spain, France, and the United States, highlighting the global appeal of her Abstract Expressionist and figurative paintings. Notable milestones include exhibitions at the Consulate of Colombia in Barcelona, participation in the First Barcelona Art Market, and a recent group exhibition at the Congress of the Republic of Colombia.
Her works have been featured in several exhibitions, including Casa Wally (Bogotá, 1990), the Consulate of Colombia in Barcelona (1996), Spirit, Art and Abstraction in France (1999), Café-Arte Boston (2016), and the solo exhibition “The Women of the World” at Casa de la Igualdad, Bogotá (2019). More recently, she participated in Artrade Latam exhibitions at Casa Crónica Gallery (2022) and the Congress of the Republic of Colombia (2023), alongside a permanent exhibition with Artrade Latam Virtual Art Gallery (2019–2024).
Through these achievements, Claudia Delgado Rojas continues to strengthen her presence as a contemporary artist working between Abstract Expressionism and figurative painting, creating artworks that unite spiritual exploration, colour, and emotional expression.
