Shubham's journey began amidst the ancient landscapes of Rajasthan, where the remnants of history sparked his imagination from a tender age. Surrounded by the rich tapestry of art, he absorbed its myriad forms and textures, forging a deep connection with creativity. As he traversed different corners of India, encountering diverse cultures and people, Shubham's artistic evolution took on a distinctive hue.
His canvas became a reflective surface for his personal odyssey and keen observations of society. Each stroke of his brush, infused with vibrant colors and surreal exaggerations, spoke volumes about the complexities he encountered. From bustling streets to serene landscapes, he captured not just scenes but the essence of human experience—sometimes unsettling, yet always compelling.
Collaborations with fellow artists and immersion in various traditions deepened his understanding of the human condition. Through his art, Shubham delves into the shadows that dwell within us all, exploring societal taboos and unspoken truths. His paintings transcend mere depiction, becoming portals into a world where reality intertwines with the supernatural, offering poignant insights into the depths of emotion and the intricacies of our collective existence.
Shubham's work has been featured in several prominent exhibitions. In 2024, he participated in a group exhibition, Nazariye, at Stainless Gallery, New Delhi. In 2023, he held a solo show titled King of the Ruins at Galerie Romain Rolland and contributed to group exhibitions like A Walk Among Souls II at AIFACS Art Gallery and the India Art Festival at Constitution Club, New Delhi. His previous exhibitions include Voice of Innersole (2021) at the Open Palm Court, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi; Tangible and Intangible Art Heritage (2022) at the National Museum; and A Walk Among Souls (2022) at Stainless Gallery. Since 2019, Shubham has been producing high-quality artworks and contributing his unique perspective to various artistic projects. His earlier years (2015–2019) were marked by active freelance work, including portrait and wall painting, sculptural exploration, and studies at the Institute of Fine Arts, Modinagar, Delhi. These experiences, both academic and experiential, have laid the foundation for Shubham’s dynamic and deeply expressive body of work.
In essence, Shubham's work stands as a testament to the power of art to illuminate the unseen and evoke profound contemplation on the human spirit. Each piece is a narrative, woven with threads of personal revelation and universal truths, inviting viewers to confront the darkness within and without, ultimately finding beauty in the unsettling and solace in the unsettling.
