Yovany Morales

Yovany Morales is a contemporary artist based in Guadalajara, Mexico, whose work explores the human condition through the expressive lens of fine art painting. Inspired by the emotional intensity of Expressionism, Morales’s canvases often delve into themes of introspection, identity, and the complexities of modern life. His bold use of color and dynamic compositions creates a powerful visual language that resonates with viewers on a visceral level.

Morales’s artistic foundations were laid at the University of Guadalajara, where he earned a Bachelor of Visual Arts with a focus on painting (2005-2009). His formal education was complemented by practical experience restoring José Clemente Orozco’s mural, “La Gran Comilona,” at the Centro Cultural Cabañas in 2006. This early exposure to the Mexican muralist tradition significantly influenced his artistic development and instilled in him a deep appreciation for public art. He further honed his artistic skills through a diploma in artistic photography from Proulex Lab in 2016.

Throughout his decade-long career, Morales has garnered recognition for his evocative paintings. His artwork was selected for the prestigious "Arte40" exhibition in Mexico City in 2012, judged by experts from the Museo Nacional de Arte. His commitment to education is evident in his role as a Visual Arts teacher at both the University of Guadalajara and for the Secretaria de Educación Pública. He also served as an arts advisor for the Municipal Council for Culture and the Arts in Guadalajara.
