Ranjit Sarkar, born in Kolkata, is an accomplished artist with a rich academic and exhibition background. He graduated from Calcutta University in 1998 and later studied Indian-style painting under Professor Samir Ghosh, the head of the art department at Chandpara Art College. He further refined his skills by completing a Diploma in Painting from DQ, Hyderabad, from 2010 to 2012.
Sarkar's work is characterized by a dramatic representation and a continuous exploration of mythological and religious figures. His art expresses concerns about the relationships between human passion and the surrounding environment, often modifying natural appearances to achieve an intense impression of realism.
His talent has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the AIFACS Award 2017, the Kalaspandan International award, the Master Sangsar Chand Award, and the Best Participant Artist (BHS).
