Prasanth KP

I am a self-taught artist who works primarily in acrylic and watercolor, exploring the immediacy and depth of impressionist expression. My practice is rooted in observing nature, the everyday lives of common people, and the subtle essence of human portraits. As a traveler, I carry my studio into the world, creating plein-air impressions that capture fleeting light, shifting moods, and lived experiences along the journey.
For me, painting is both a dialogue with the moment and a way of preserving its spirit. Each brushstroke seeks to translate not just what I see, but also what I feel — the pulse of life, the quiet dignity of people, and the atmosphere of places that inspire me. My art is an attempt to honor simplicity, celebrate movement, and find beauty in the ordinary.

Prasanth KP

Prasanth KP is a self-taught artist based in Kochi, Kerala, India. His artistic journey is characterized by a deep exploration of watercolor painting, with additional expertise in oil and acrylic mediums. He finds inspiration in the natural world, evident in his landscapes, and embraces both figurative and impressionistic styles, often capturing the essence of a moment en plein air. His connection with the Urban Sketchers community further fuels his passion for on-location painting.
Prasanth's artistic development, while self-directed, has been significantly enriched by his involvement with the Prussian Blue Art Hub in Kochi, as an event coordinator, has also provided a platform for artistic exchange and growth. This blend of independent exploration and community engagement defines his unique artistic path.
