Narayan Khatua is a contemporary Indian artist known for his dynamic explorations in the field of abstract painting. His work, spanning over 30 years, draws inspiration from India’s vibrant cultural tapestry, interwoven with personal experiences and observations. He skillfully uses color, texture, and composition to evoke emotion and narrative, inviting viewers to engage with their own interpretations of his abstract forms. Khatua’s formal art education began at M.M.K. College of Visual Arts, Gulbarga University, Karnataka, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in 2005. His early career involved exploring various artistic avenues, including multimedia, desktop publishing, and even assisting in the Mumbai film and television industry. These experiences broadened his artistic horizons and contributed to the development of his unique visual language. He also dedicated himself to art education, sharing his knowledge and passion with students from various institutions including Cambridge School, Bihar and Balurghat Greenland Art School.
Throughout his artistic journey, Khatua has participated in numerous prestigious exhibitions and has received recognition for his artistic contributions. His work has been exhibited internationally at the Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre in Kolkata and at the Galleria Art Lugar Aosol in Brazil. He has been honoured with awards and accolades from his childhood, including a silver medal and recognition from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, which encouraged his artistic development and affirmed his talent.
