Leonardo Segovia

Leonardo Segovia is a Colombian visual artist whose artistic journey spans over twenty-seven years, exploring the expressive intersections of Figurative Art, Realism, mythology, and Street Art aesthetics. His work is deeply influenced by personal experience, his connection with the feminine, and an enduring relationship with the natural world. Through vibrant colour palettes and symbolic imagery, Segovia has developed a distinctive visual language that reflects emotional depth and cultural storytelling. His artistic vision seeks to construct a personal mythology, drawing parallels between diverse cultural deities while exploring universal themes such as love, death, and human transformation.

Segovia graduated from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 2009 with a degree in Visual Arts, focusing on plastic and graphic expression. He later completed a Master’s degree in Education from the same university in 2014, further strengthening his intellectual and creative foundations. During the early stages of his career, he experimented with a variety of mediums—including analog painting, mixed media, and digital art—to develop a visual practice that bridges traditional techniques with contemporary expression. His work often incorporates nature symbolism and environmental narratives, translating his concern for ecological preservation into powerful visual metaphors.

Throughout his career, Segovia has received several recognitions, including Mentions of Honor at the IV International Meeting of Artists in Sucre (2019), Mujer Colors XXI at the Congress of the Republic of Colombia (2019), and GEBA Art Gallery (2019). His artistic contributions have also appeared in publications through illustrations and co-authorship in books and magazines, reflecting the breadth of his creative engagement. In addition, his work has been highlighted in interviews and news features, expanding his presence within the contemporary art community.

Segovia’s work has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions. His solo exhibitions include Naturaleza Retomada (2023) at Cúrcuma Art Center and Libreta de Apuntes (2018) at La Sala–Fábrica de Hechos Culturales. He has also participated in major group exhibitions such as Deidades at the Bogotá Council (2025), SCATHA at the 8th Fair of Services for Colombians in Florida (2025), Manjui: Humanity International Art Exhibition in Buenos Aires (2024), and Paisajes Etéreos at Pixel Reality Exhibition (2023), among others. Through these exhibitions, Segovia continues to expand his voice within contemporary Latin American figurative and symbolic art.

My Journey

Customer Testimonials

Well, I wanted to tell you that I was traveling, and when I got back, I didn't know where to hang the artwork. After thinking about it for a long time, I decided on a spot. And well, Once it was there, I realized two things: That the painting is truly beautiful and that the location didn't matter so much; any place is a good place for it. Seriously, the artwork is beautiful.

I smile every single one of the 54 times I pass by the paintings during the day. I never imagined art had such power. I feel so grateful to have these works in my home, and I hope art continues to brighten many more homes.
