Jiban Biswas is a contemporary Indian artist known for his dynamic exploration of expressionism, figurative art, and impressionism. Biswas's formal art education began at the Government College of Art & Craft in Kolkata, where he earned his BVA in 2006. This foundational training provided him with a strong grasp of traditional techniques, which he later adapted and expanded upon to develop his distinctive artistic voice. His early career saw him actively participating in numerous group exhibitions, gaining valuable exposure and establishing connections within the art community. He held his first solo exhibition in 2008 at the Genesis Art Gallery in Kolkata, marking a significant milestone in his artistic journey.
Over the years, Biswas's talent and dedication have been recognized through various awards and accolades. He received the Best College Award in 2005-2006, followed by the Prayas First Award in 2015 and the prestigious Profulla Award in 2017. His works have found their way into esteemed private collections, including those of Mrs. Rekha Modi, Mr. S.K. Khemka, Mr. Anurag Khemka, the Emami Group of Companies, and the Fort Group. His art transcends geographical boundaries, resonating with collectors in France, Germany, England, and numerous other countries.
