Elena Parau is a prominent abstract, figurative, and impressionist painter whose vibrant and textured works explore themes of mental states, healing, and femininity. Inspired by her challenging childhood in communist Romania, where artistic expression was stifled, she strives to imbue her art with positivity and hope. Her artistic journey has been deeply influenced by her interests in psychology, spirituality, meditation, and the teachings of figures like Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, Neale Donald Walsh, and Doreen Virtue.
Originally from Romania and now based in Guadalajara, Mexico, Elena is a self-taught artist with over 17 years of experience. She began selling her art internationally in 2008, building a global following. Her decision in 2014 to leave her successful banking career and embrace a life abroad, living in Rome (It), Toronto (Ca), Bogota(Co) and Guadalajara (Mx), further enriched her artistic style and broadened her perspective. Her fluency in English, Spanish, Italian, and Romanian reflects her global experiences.
Elena Parau's artistic talent has garnered international recognition, with her paintings featured in private collections across five continents and over 23 countries. She has been selected for prestigious awards, including the Social Art Award 2025, the Berlin Art Award 2024, Trienal Tijuana Mexico. Her work has also been featured in various publications like NNC Magazine and Maxwell Jalisco, and she has given interviews on radio and television programs, further cementing her status as a rising star in the art world. In 2025, she debuted as a poet, winning awards and sharing her powerful words written during her adolescence in communist Romania.
