Diyanshu Dewangan was born in the village of Hathband in the Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh. His upbringing in a rural environment became the foundation of his artistic vision. Surrounded by villagers, farmers, and age-old traditions, he grew up observing the subtle and powerful emotions that shape everyday life in the countryside.
He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Fine Arts at Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, where his creativity deepened and his artistic language began to take form. The influence of rural life—its people, rhythms, and cultural roots—continues to guide his practice.
Dewangan’s work is defined by an exploration of diverse surfaces, lines, and shapes, through which he creates mural-like environments that feel immersive and alive. He pays meticulous attention to light and shadow, using a rich, deep color palette to amplify mood and emotion. His varied brushstrokes and textured surfaces add a dynamic quality to each artwork, echoing the vitality of the world he portrays.
Through his paintings, Dewangan captures villagers, farmers, and the traditions that sustain rural life. His art is a continuous search for new dimensions of storytelling—an evolving journey where the emotional landscape of his surroundings is transformed into expressive and meaningful visual narratives.
