Apurba Karati, a visual artist hailing from West Bengal, India, embarked on his artistic voyage with a strong academic foundation. Karati has actively immersed himself in the dynamic art world, consistently participating in numerous exhibitions that showcase his evolving artistic narratives. His recent engagements include a Group Show at the Stainless Gallery in New Delhi in 2024, underscoring his continued relevance in the contemporary art scene. Prior to this, his works were featured in Group Shows at the Zeoline Art Gallery in 2023 and the Kismat Art Gallery in Mumbai in the same year, broadening his audience reach across India and indicating a growing recognition beyond his regional base. His sustained presence in group exhibitions since 2019, including shows at the Press Club Benaras, Oxy Art Guild in Gurgaon, and the international platform of Gnai art gallery in Singapore, demonstrates his unwavering commitment to sharing his artistic vision with diverse audiences. His involvement in art spaces like Kalaa Drishyam in Lucknow and Karkhana Art Space in Dhaka, Bangladesh, further highlights his engagement with varied artistic communities and his expanding portfolio.
Beyond exhibitions, Karati actively participates in workshops to hone his skills and explore new perspectives. A significant aspect of his journey includes solo exhibitions at prestigious Taj Bengal Hotels in Kolkata (2014, 2016, 2018, 2024) and Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai (2015, 2017), signifying a growing appreciation for his unique figurative expressions. Recognition of his artistic merit comes through accolades like the Kalangan Award (2020) and the Karkhana Art Space Award in Dhaka (2021), marking significant milestones in his dedicated and evolving artistic journey.
