He further honed his skills at Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, earning a Master of Fine Arts in Painting in 2014 and culminating in a Ph.D. in 2025, focusing on the contribution of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh to contemporary Indian painting. His early career included positions as a visiting faculty member and program convener, contributing to the art education landscape.

Throughout his career, Mishra has garnered numerous prestigious awards and accolades. These include the Vijay Ram Ratana Award, a Silver Medal from The Art Society of India, Mumbai, and the State Award from Praffulla Dhanukhdhar Art Foundation.
