Ambrish Mishra

Dr. Ambrish Mishra is a contemporary figurative painter whose artistic journey spans 18 years, deeply rooted in the artistic traditions of India. His work often explores the interplay of nature and human nature, drawing inspiration from the rich cultural tapestry and philosophical underpinnings of his homeland. Mishra's evocative paintings showcase a mastery of form and color, capturing the essence of human emotion and experience with remarkable depth.

Mishra's formal art education began at the University of Allahabad, where he obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Graphic Arts in 2012. He further honed his skills at Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, earning a Master of Fine Arts in Painting in 2014 and culminating in a Ph.D. in 2025, focusing on the contribution of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh to contemporary Indian painting. His early career included positions as a visiting faculty member and program convener, contributing to the art education landscape.

Throughout his career, Mishra has garnered numerous prestigious awards and accolades. These include the Vijay Ram Ratana Award, a Silver Medal from The Art Society of India, Mumbai, and the State Award from Praffulla Dhanukhdhar Art Foundation. His work has been recognized in All India Art Exhibitions and has been featured in publications such as Art & Deal Magazine. He also received a Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, further solidifying his dedication to artistic exploration.
