ALEJANDRO NARANJO

Alejandro Naranjo (b. 1972, Colombia) is an abstract expressionist and figurative painter with 20 years of experience creating evocative, lyrical narratives. His work transcends verbal language, inviting viewers to engage in a deeper dialogue with the piece.

Naranjo's artistic journey began with formal training at the Metropolitan Technological Institute and the University of Antioquia in Medellín. His paintings, primarily in oil and graphite on canvas and paper, explore themes of life and the human condition, reflecting the landscapes we inhabit and the everyday moments that shape us.

Employing textures, lines, and strokes, Naranjo constructs a visual language that bridges abstraction and figuration. His work has been exhibited internationally, including shows in the US, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Colombia, earning him recognition, such as the Third Prize at the XVI Departmental Hall of Arts in Medellín.

ALEJANDRO NARANJO

Colombian artist Alejandro Naranjo, born in 1972, masterfully blends abstraction and figurative elements in his expressionist paintings. Inspired by the ephemeral nature of life and the landscapes we inhabit, Naranjo's artwork delves into lyrical storytelling, evoking a dialogue that transcends verbal language. His pieces invite viewers to explore the interplay of textures, lines, and vibrant colors, sparking personal interpretations beyond the immediately obvious.

Naranjo's artistic journey began with studies at the Metropolitan Technological Institute in Medellín, culminating in a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and Fine Arts Education from the University of Antioquia. His early work demonstrated a keen interest in capturing fleeting moments and sensations, drawing from memory to create new and subjective scenes. This foundation laid the groundwork for his later explorations of abstract and figurative art.

Throughout his 20-year career, Naranjo has garnered recognition for his unique artistic voice. In 2008, he received the third prize in the XVI Departmental Hall of Arts for art teachers in Medellín. His international presence is evident through participation in prestigious events like the Hong Kong festival in 2005 and the Gwanghwamun International Art Festival in South Korea in 2011.

Customer Testimonials

Well, I wanted to tell you that I was traveling, and when I got back, I didn't know where to hang the artwork. After thinking about it for a long time, I decided on a spot. And well, Once it was there, I realized two things: That the painting is truly beautiful and that the location didn't matter so much; any place is a good place for it. Seriously, the artwork is beautiful.

I smile every single one of the 54 times I pass by the paintings during the day. I never imagined art had such power. I feel so grateful to have these works in my home, and I hope art continues to brighten many more homes.
