Painting of full moon. I am inspired by Indian culture and Indian astrology which I explore in some of my works. <\/p>\n

In Indian culture, we have hand gestures in yoga and meditation practices known as Mudra. They are healing and relaxing for the both the body and the mind. There are over 100 mudra for each parts of the body and mind. Regularly practicing of mudra enhances the healing abilities of the body which improves our overall health. <\/p>\n

The mudra or the hand gestures around the moon outlined with silver ink are related to healing of the mind and balancing hormones, because moon represents hormones in Vedic astrology. Moon is also the planet of healing in astrology. So the mudra around the moon is illustrated as a symbolism to its function. The swan in the painting is a significance of the creator god in Hindu beliefs. Since the zodiac of cancer is a water sign ruled by the moon, there is gentle waters in the painting which adds more weight to the significance of the subject.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
