Mamta Malhotra, an accomplished painter and trained architect with 45 years of experience, beautifully captures the soul of Varanasi in her glorious oil on canvas paintings. Her captivating imagery graphically depicts this ancient land, rich in spirituality, literature, and music. Through a masterful play of line, color, and texture, Mamta renders the stunning skyline of the Gangaji ghats with true perspective and architectural detail, creating a rich, meditative visual experience. Her acclaimed work, gracing the homes of connoisseurs worldwide, has been showcased in India's premier galleries and earned her numerous honors.

Mamta Malhotra's diverse background deeply enriches her artistic expression. Her foundational training includes painting and sculpture with luminaries like Rameshwar Broota, Shobha Broota, and Pradip Saxena at the Triveni Kala Sangam. She further refined her skills, earning an honors certificate from the Royal Drawing Society in London, and completed a residency at The Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China.
Dividing her time between the ancient city of Varanasi, where she lives and works, and San Francisco, Mamta's unique perception of history and culture is infused into her oil and acrylic paintings. Her architectural expertise, honed through designing residences, galleries, and numerous interior and landscape projects, translates into her art's meticulous perspective and detail. While her "artist's soul" finds freedom in painting, she masterfully explores diverse subjects including landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, and abstract works, embracing the interplay of line, color, form, and texture.
Varanasi, a vibrant confluence of culture and history, serves as her profound muse. Mamta vividly captures the spirit of Banaras, particularly the Gangaji ghats, with remarkable architectural integrity. She even juxtaposes Sanskrit shlokas with architectural idioms, forging a new visual vocabulary. Her cityscapes beautifully highlight both the ephemeral beauty and enduring vitality of this ancient way of life, reflecting her deep concern for environmental protection and cultural identity.
Mamta has held three solo shows—two at the Open Palm Court Gallery, India Habitat Centre, and one at the Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai. Her critically acclaimed work has also been exhibited at prestigious venues including the Visual Arts Gallery, Triveni Kala Sangam's annual exhibition, Art Laureate Gallery, Gallery Espace Sorbonne 4 (Paris), and Trump Tower, New York, alongside other online collections. Her art has been featured in a New York Times bestseller coffee table book, the HarperCollins catalogue, and Architecture Week magazine, with mentions in numerous Indian publications. Her paintings are cherished by connoisseurs across India, Dubai, France, Canada, and the United States. Beyond her art, Mamta actively contributes to community service through greening projects for local communities and educational institutions.
